Signs of Spring!

I took my camera and went for a walk around my place. I found a few signs of spring! It was about 55 degrees this afternoon, but the wind was gusting over 30 miles per hour so that made it pretty chilly.
The little pink flower is the only creeping phlox that is blooming out of all the phlox I have....wonder why it is blooming so much earlier than the rest? The violas really winter over pretty good. I often find them blooming during the winter in protected places but this winter was a bit hard on them. It was good to find some daffodils coming up. There should be a lot more of them as well as tulips, crocus, hyacinths, etc. The earliest sign of spring aroung here is usually the pussy willow. Its fuzzy little buds are so soft! I picked a bouquet of them to bring inside.
The top picture and bottom picture obviously aren't really signs of spring, but they are so happy to lay in the warm sun. The dog is Aly. She is a Plott hound. Cole hunts coon with her. She is a goofy dog with a lot of personality. The cat is mine. Her name is Cinnamon Toast or CT for short.
Looking forward to much warmer weather and the arrival of my garden seeds!

Engagement Sitting

These are a couple of my favorites from the session this afternoon.

Spring?

Hope the Easter bunny hadn't gotten rid of his winter coat! We woke up to a bit of snow this morning....so much for spring being here!! By noon most of the snow had disappeared but it is still chilly and cloudy.

Took engagement pictures for a cute couple this afternoon...might post some of those later. Their wedding is April 19. That is the first of the many weddings I have booked for this year. I really enjoy taking wedding pictures and every wedding is different so you have a lot of creative opportunities. Okay, it is stressful too because you don't want to mess up, but it is still a lot of fun!

Mud Roads

During the winter it was the snow, now it is the mud! These pictures were taken on a good day and there were a lot worse places than these! It was drying up and there was at least a path thru the mud.....but you didn't really want to have to meet someone so you had to get over. Unfortunately any moisture brings back the mud as the roads hardly have any gravel on them. I'm afraid we well have a lot more muddy road days ahead this spring!

Easter Photo Special

I am really slow getting an Easter/Spring special posted. It isn't supposed to be Easter yet!! As a result I will run the Easter/Spring special until May 1.

Sitting fee + proofbook = $25
Approximately 1/2 hour session.
1 or 2 changes of clothes.

Have a great Easter weekend!

Lost Creativity.......

My creative self is on vacation apparently. I have been trying to put together some wedding pictures to create a collage and it just isn't working. The ideas I do have aren't translating into anything that really looks right.........oh well, maybe another day! Usually if I just let it go for a while, I can come back to it and things will go better.

What do you do to recharge your creativity?

I had a senior picture session on Saturday. He wanted some outdoor and it was not too bad but the sun sure was bright glaring off all the snow. It was impossible for him not to squint even when I had him close his eyes. This was a fun picture taken look up into the tree.

Another Picture!

Had some fun with this one!

Adorable Little Girls!

Had a really fun morning taking pictures of a couple cute little girls. I got to use some of my new props that I hadn't had the opportunity to use yet so that made it more fun for me!
These are just a sampling of the pictures from the session.

One more important thing!

I have been checking out the "Flylady" and today I read something that talked about the Rubba Scrubba and how good it worked for cleaning dog hair off of things. Well, I thought I'd have to try it. Our rat terrier, Kaminga, is the best little dog but the most awful shedder....so anything that will help remove dog hair sounds like a good deal to me. Mostly she stays off the furniture except when we are gone, she sits up on the back of the couch so she can watch out the window for us to come home. Needless to say, she sheds while she watches....oh, she always hurries up and gets down so we don't see her so she doesn't get in trouble, but the white hairs give her away! Plus, she really is an outside dog....she just prefers to ignore that especially when it's cold!

Check out the "Preset Viewer"

I have looked and looked for a viewer or some way to be able to look at the brushes, shapes, patterns, etc. that I had installed in Photoshop. Just having the set names usually wasn't much help because I never had a clue which set had the brush I was looking for (and I have hundred...or maybe it's thousands!! :-)). I finally found the "Preset Viewer" when I looked at the NAPP website (National Association of Photoshop Professionals) as it was listed in their discounts section. So happily, with my NAPP membership, I could get a 30% discount! Needless to say I was very anxious to get it ordered and downloaded and it is worth every penny! It shows all your brushes, shapes, patterns, swatches, etc. as thumbnails. The "Preset Viewer" is available at http://www.plaindigitalwrapper.com/shoppe/home.php They also have a lot other neat stuff, mainly for scrapbooking, but some of it is good for digital photography. And the big thing....I thought it was reasonably priced!! Check it out!
