Computer Saga

My main photo editing/design computer wound up in the shop at HomeRun Computers for an entire week. I took it in on Monday morning and didn't get it back until 5:30pm Sunday. It had a couple minor problems (or so I thought!) and so I thought I just get some upgrading done while it was in the shop. Well, my small problems turned out to be unique issues that created havoc. While I got it back on Sunday night, my computer guy was not happy as he hadn't been able to restore all my data to preupgrade settings so he continued to try to figure out a way to make this happen. He finally came up with what he hoped was a solution, so I got the computer back to him last night (tues.) so he could work on it some more. Since I had gallbladder surgery today anyway, it just seemed like a good time to get the rest of the kinks worked out....hopefully he was able to accomplish that. Fingers and toes crossed that I will be able to have some of my family go pick it up tomorrow if it's ready since I they won't want me to drive just yet.

While I wasn't happy about having to have the gallbladder surgery done, it seemed to go fine and I was happy to have to do it now while my business is slower. It would have been much more difficult as we get into summer to take time off.

I got to be the first patient at our local hospital to have my gallbladder removed via a single small incision on the lower edge of my belly button. My belly button is not a pretty sight right now and there is some pain.....need to keep up with the pain pills so that doesn't get bad. I went a little too long tonight so once things get settled down, I am off too bed...hopefully for a good nights sleep!

After this week, I hope to have everything back to normal in the office! I have grad cards and slideshows to work on, as well as photo editing and orders. Also, I have home shows and bridal shows coming up. The first one is a home show in Montezuma on March 15. Hope to see you there that evening!

I still have some available times for my "Limited Easter Kids Session" with live chicks on Saturday, April 9. This will be a lot of fun for the kids and a fun way to get some special Easter pictures this year. Call to reserve your time at 641-891-6779.

December Wedding

I have been a bad blogger!! Sorry I haven't done much posting. I will try to do better!

This was a beautiful wedding on a snowy day that turned bone chilling cold by evening. The bride still wanted to get a few pictures in the snow even though the wind chill was well below zero.

New Baby at Our House!

This baby came to live with us today. She is a purebred dalmatian and she is 11 wks. old. I named her Callie. She is a sweet puppy! My last dalmatian got run over on the road early last winter. I had really missed not having a dalmatian.

A little bit of deer hunting.....

I watched this little guy wake up! I was sitting in the stand and I saw his head come up, then he stood up, stretched a bit and began to look around and luckily wandered in my direction.

Below, is a doe and fawn that came up thru the field very close to where I was sitting.

There were five more does and a couple fawns came up a bit later when it was getting too dark for good pictures. The doe below spotted me and did a lot of stomping and blowing but never really ran off. She sure was nervous though and made the rest of them do a lot of milling around.

Thanks to Kara for letting me go out with her! Kara was bow hunting. No bucks tonight....maybe next time. I really enjoyed it and want to go again soon!!

Dead Fish!!

This was a very nice crappie.....my flip flop was the only thing I had to indicate size...it is a ladies size 7! :-)
This was a large grass carp.
This is a nice big catfish surrounded by some crappie and bluegill. Below, another of the grass carp with some crappie, bluegill and a few smaller bass.

This was a bad weekend at our house....we had a major fish kill in the pond! It was apparently caused by lack of oxygen as a result the weather conditions and decaying plant life.....that is the opinion of the DNR. Regardless, we have 100's and 100's of dead fish and yes, they are beginning to smell BAD! I took a few pictures today, but the worst is actually over and some of the fish are already sinking to the bottom or have been dragged off by coons, coyotes, etc. The wildlife are well fed around here anyway! Yesterday, the shoreline was white with dead fish and there where dead bodies floating all around on the surface. It will be a few days before it is a very pleasant location to go for pictures!!

I can't believe how that temperature is dropping! It is down to 49 degrees already from a high of 69 this morning. The wind is blowing hard too and that makes it feel even colder. Doesn't feel springy at all right now. Bryden brought these plant home for me to take care of so I will have to bring them into the house so they don't get too chilly tonight.
The pot of succulents is one he planted last year and kept over, as well as the hibiscus. The pepper and tomato plants are babies that got dropped on the floor by the machine that does the transplanting. Bryden always rescues them, plants them and brings them home to me....That is partly how I ended up with 100 tomato plants last year!!
